The Chasia Fund

Lung cancer is the leading cancer killer in both men and women in the United States and one of the most common cancers worldwide, accounting for 1.2 million new cases annually. In 1987, it surpassed breast cancer to become the leading cause of cancer deaths in women and lung cancer will cause more deaths than the next three most common cancers combined (colon, breast, and prostate) in the next year, with an estimated 162,460 deaths from lung cancer per year in the US (American Cancer Society, Cancer Facts and Figures, 2006) Improving therapeutic outcome in this disease is a critical goal.

The costs of medical research and related activities rise approximately 3.5 percent per year. By sponsoring the Chasia Fund, Lung Cancer Circle of Hope proudly supports and promotes lung cancer research.
